Lula Mae Towater

Lula Mae Towater died peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2023, in her home at the age of 87. Born Thursday, May 2, 1935, in Henderson County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Alsie Scott Dodd.
Her career was as an insurance agent for American General Insurance Company. Her love was her family, and her most enjoyable moments were spent with them, especially with her five grandchildren. Lula had a passion for all animals and enjoyed taking care of them.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Kelley of Jackson TN; granddaughter, Julie Holt and husband Kris of Jackson, TN; brother, Charles D. Dodd and wife Pamela of Smyrna, TN; sister, Alvina Barton of Covington, TN; grandchildren, Presley Joe Kate Holt, Jaxon Wyatt Holt, Madison Grace Holt, Harper Lee Grace Holt and Nathan Kristopher Holt, all of Jackson, TN.
Other than her parents, she is now reunited with her husband of 47 years, James William Towater and two brothers, Thomas Dodd and Harold Dodd.
SERVICE: The Funeral Services for Lula Mae will be Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Minister Tommy McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Kris Holt, Scott Conger, Bobby Barton, David Dodd, Eric Serratt, Daniel Willoughby, Tim Tucker and Alan Randolph.
Because of Lula’s love for animals, the family has requested memorial contributions be directed to Jackson Animal Care Center, 23 Pinnacle Dr, Jackson, TN 38301.
