Linda Herron Snider, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Alamo Nursing Home, at the age of 84.

She was born on March 31, 1941, in Jackson, TN. She was the daughter of Arthur Davis Herron and Frances Turner Herron.

Linda met the love of her life, Monte, while attending South Side High School in 1958. The two exchanged countless letters between her hometown of Mercer, TN, and his home in Jackson, TN, building a bond that would last a lifetime. In September of 1959, they were married, beginning a journey together that spanned 62 wonderful years.

In 1973, she and her husband, Monte, devoted their lives to Christ at Allen and Edgewood Church of Christ, and from that moment on her life reflected her faith. Linda had a servant’s heart—always ready to help with a Group 4 dinner at church, a bridal shower, a baby shower, or wherever she was needed.

A cherished member of the North Jackson Church of Christ, Linda’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and shaping her relationships.

Linda poured her heart into Jackson Christian for many years, where she was lovingly known by the students as one of the best “lunch ladies” and their cherished “Mama Linda.”

Linda known not only for her skill as a seamstress but also for the warmth she extended to those around her, using her gift to do alterations for many shops and boutiques in Jackson, TN. Her strong work ethic, gentle spirit, and love for people shined through everything she did, blessing countless lives along the way.

She is survived by her loving daughters: Karen Anthony, Carol Taylor and Catherine Snider. Linda took immense pride in being a grandmother to her six grandchildren—Julia Miller, Anna Booker (Andrew) , Glen Anthony, Lori Hurt (Brandon), and Robert P. Snider—and a great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren: Caleb Massey, Brennen Anthony, AnnaBeth Massey, Jaycee Butler, Latham Butler, Braylee Hurt, Adalynn Hurt, EllaKate Booker and Emmy Ruth Hurt. Each of them held a very special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Additionally, Linda is survived by her sister, Beverly Herron Lowrance (Larry), who shared countless memories and cherished moments with her. She is also survived by her niece, Robin Cole (Rob).

Linda was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Robert Monte Snider, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, as well as her cherished parents, Arthur Davis Herron and Frances Turner Herron, her beloved nephew, Paul Daniel Jr. and her beloved grandson, Jacob Miller.

A graveside service will be held at Ridgecrest Cemetery in Jackson, TN, on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Allen Verell officiating.

Linda will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and the devotion she poured into everything she did. She lived a life of service to those she loved, always giving her very best to help in any way she could. The memories of family dinners, holidays, and birthdays will be treasured forever—gatherings filled with her warmth, laughter, and the comfort of her wonderful cooking. She leaves behind a legacy of love, care, and togetherness that will forever live on in the hearts of her family.
