Linda Faye Ross, a beloved mother, devoted wife, and loving grandmother, passed away on May 19, 2026, in Jackson, Tennessee. Born on July 2, 1963, in Henderson, Tennessee, Linda was a cherished soul whose life was marked by kindness, dedication, and an unwavering love for her family.
Linda graduated from South Side High School in 1981, laying the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and compassion. During her high school years, she began her career as a waitress at Western Sizzlin Restaurant, demonstrating an early commitment to service. She later devoted twenty-four years of her life to skilled work as a machine operator—twelve years at Atlantis Plastics followed by another twelve at TBDN—reflecting her strong work ethic and reliability.
Beyond her professional achievements, Linda’s greatest pride and joy were her family. She married Norris Ross on November 21, 1983, after meeting him at the Five Points Square Dance. Together, they raised their two children, Justin and Ashley. Linda was not only a devoted mother but also a nurturing presence to everyone who came into her home. Known for her servant’s heart, she extended her love and care beyond her immediate family, never turning anyone away. Her capacity for generosity and kindness made a lasting impression on many lives.
Linda loved life and found happiness in the simple pleasures of spending time with family and friends. Whenever her health permitted, she was an active participant in the Love and Truth church community, where her faith complemented her gracious spirit. Her joy in doing for others was a defining characteristic that those who knew her will fondly remember.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Norris Ross; children, Justin Wayne Ross (Holly Harden) and Ashley Nicole Ross; grandchildren, Kelsey Dawn Williams and Oakley Faye Ross; father, Raywood Maness (Jean); siblings, Virginia "Jenny" Nell Thomas (Bobby), Stevie Ray Maness (Brenda), Connie Sue Loynes (Ronnie), Sandra "Cindy' Kay Patterson (Gary), Patricia Ann Pusser (Jerry), and Terry Ray Morris (Michelle); and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Junell Morris; step-father, Jerry Morris; brother, Gary Maness; nephew, Jamison Ross; and great niece, Aaliyah Ayala.
A funeral service to honor Linda's life will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2026, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The burial will follow at Beech Bluff Cemetery. Pallbearers to serve include: Michael Lovejoy, Jimmy Matthews, Amber Mayo, Ashley Morgan, Haley Morris, Casey Riddle, Jeremy Ross, and Chris Taylor.
Linda's family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her will carry forward the warmth and compassion she embodied throughout her life.
