Leanne Honeycutt, fondly known as "Yaya," passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born on Saturday, December 15, 1945, in Vanceburg, Kentucky, Leanne’s determination and positivity were evident from her early days. She was a proud graduate of Wadsworth High School in Wadsworth, Ohio, class of 1963.
Leanne devoted much of her career to serving her community. She worked with Owens Corning until 1978 before embarking on an impressive 30-year tenure as an Administrative Assistant at the Jackson Madison County Health Department. Her commitment to her work showcased her dedication to helping others, a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Family was at the very heart of Leanne's life. She is survived by her beloved children, Laura King (Kevin) of Medina, TN and Matthew Honeycutt, of Jackson, TN who filled her life with joy and pride. As a grandmother, Leanne's spirit radiated even more brightly through her cherished grandchildren, Andrew and Sydney King, who were the pride and joy of her later years. Together, they created countless memories filled with laughter and love, whether traveling on adventures or simply attending family gatherings.
Throughout her life, Leanne had a special connection with her beloved French Bulldog, Fern, who brought her companionship and happiness. As a dog lover, her furry friend held a special place in her heart, a testament to the warmth and kindness that defined her personality.
Leanne leaves behind not only a remarkable legacy of dedication to family, her church, Englewood Baptist, and career, but also a special thank you to her physical and occupational therapists from Gerihab, Ginger Buckley and Dana Kail-Smith, whose support greatly enhanced her quality of life, especially during her most recent days.
Leanne is reunited with her beloved parents, Ancil and Eloise Thoroughman, who have awaited her arrival in peace. The joy she has brought to those around her will live on in the hearts and memories of family and friends who treasured her spirit.
SERVICE: A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Ridgecrest Cemetery AT 2:30PM , where family and friends will gather to honor her remarkable life and the impact she had on all who knew her. Leanne Honeycutt will be dearly missed, yet her memory will forever remain a beacon of light in the lives she touched.
