Laura Blackstock, age 81, originally from Jackson, Tennessee, died Monday, September 19, 2022, in Louisville, MS. Laura married Terry Blackstock on February 17, 1966. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved cooking for her family and friends, gardening, and traveling the world. Her love of gospel music and books were shared by many. She received great pleasure out of the little things in life. She was born in Louisville, MS, the daughter of John and Ada Harris White. Laura graduated from Louisville High School and was married to the late Terry Blackstock for 48 years. Laura worked as a stylist in Jackson, TN for over 40 years. She was an active member of Englewood Baptist Church and was involved in the women's ministry and Bible studies. In 2015, she relocated to The Claiborne in Starkville MS to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren, who called her "Nana." Other than her parents and husband, Laura was preceded in death by her brothers, Tony and Neil White, and sisters, Earline Hutchinson and Carolyn Allen. She is survived by a daughter, Lynda and husband, Dr. Tom McReynolds of Starkville, MS; four grandchildren, John, Mary Margaret, Will, and Harris McReynolds of Starkville, MS; a sister, Marvel Thompson, and a brother, Travis White. SERVICES: A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2022, in the Chapel of Englewood Baptist Church, with Dr. Philip Jett officiating.
