Ms. Kay Blurton Cathey passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Dogwood Pointe Senior Living in Milan, TN at the age of 76. Kay was a graduate of Peabody High School, Richland College in Dallas, TX. After, she earned her degree in history from the University of Texas at Tyler and did graduate studies at Texas Womans University. She taught history until her husbands retirement and their relocation to Jackson, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Wayne Cathey; parents, Lynn and Hattie Blurton; brothers, Jack Blurton, Duane Blurton, Carl Blurton, and Bobby Blurton; and sisters, Loretta Canada and Zelma Penn. She is survived by one sister, Anita Bowles; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a private family service held at Ridgecrest Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her late husband. Arrington Funeral Directors, 148 W.
