Katie Lynn Gordon Katie took her final journey here on Earth to her forever journey into the heavens with our Lord Jesus Christ on March 27, 2017. She was loved by so many and will be missed greatly. Katie was born in Jackson, TN on December 21, 1994, the daughter of James Albert and Jennifer Ruth Wade Gordon. She was a graduate of Madison Academic High School of Jackson, TN and was recently engaged in on-line college coursework. As an avid writer, she wrote throughout her life, documenting her perspective in the world she lived. She won several creative writing awards at Union University and was a 10-year dance student at Valarie Spragins School of Dance. When Katie had time, she could often be found at Lake Graham casting a line, which is something she began the moment she could hold a rod. Her compassion and fierce loyalty were the cornerstones of her character, as was her huge heart and willingness to give of herself to others. She is survived by her father, James Albert Gordon of Jackson, TN; her mother, Jennifer Ruth Wade Gordon of Jackson, TN; her brother, Andrew Seth Coffman of Jackson, TN; her grandparents, Jim and Martha Wade and James and Jennifer Gordon all of Jackson, TN; aunts, Karla Grant of Jackson, TN; Jenise Gordon and Lory Heron of Chattanooga, TN; and Lynn McQuesten from Missouri; uncles, Justin Grant and John Gordon of Jackson, TN; and cousin Wade Kemp of St. Louis, MO; in addition to a multitude of friends across the country. SERVICES: A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, April 1, 2017 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, Jackson, TN with Minister Donald Pratt officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Saturday prior to the service.
