Judy Stranak, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, with her husband, Linn, by her side. Born on Tuesday, December 16, 1947, in Kuttawa, KY, her journey through life was marked by devotion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to faith, family and friends.
Judy was a graduate of Lyon County High School in Eddyville, KY, and continued her education with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Murray State University. She furthered her academic journey by obtaining her Medical Technology degree from Methodist Hospital in Memphis, TN, and later earned a master’s degree from Union University. Her commitment to her profession continued as she had completed 12 hours of coursework towards her doctorate degree at the University of Memphis.
Professionally, Judy had a distinguished career of over 25 years as a specialist in hematology at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. While her dedication and contributions were recognized through numerous awards, including Supervisor of the Year, it was her commitment to those she worked with that had the most impact and created lifelong friendships. She continued her career by successfully founding Physicians Office Consulting, sharing her love of the medical profession and desire to help with so many throughout the Southeast.
At an early age, Judy made her profession of faith in Christ, which guided her throughout her life. Her kindness touched everyone she met, and she was always quick with a warm word or an encouraging smile. Judy’s genuine compassion and steady presence made her a cherished friend and confidant to many throughout her life. She was a remarkable supporter of her husband, Linn, who affectionately referred to her as "My Pretty Lady.” She was a devoted mother whose unwavering and unconditional love served as a steadfast foundation for her children.
Judy was a beloved member of Englewood Baptist Church for 45 years. She volunteered countless hours over the years at the church to ensure the Gospel was shared, impacting many lives through her faith.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Linn Stranak of Jackson, Tennessee; their two sons, John Stranak and his wife Sarah of Brentwood, Tennessee and Wade Stranak and his wife Heather of Jackson, Tennessee, and a daughter, Sarah Patrick and her husband Ty of Jackson, Tennessee. She was a proud "Mimi," to her grandchildren, Logan Michael Stranak and his wife Jamie, Hayden Cooper Stranak, Dylan James Stranak, and Luke Emerson Stranak, and her great-grandson Percy James Stranak. Each moment spent with them brought her boundless joy and happiness. She is also survived by her brother, Jeffrey Lee Munsey of Kuttawa, Kentucky.
Preceding her in death are her mother, Barbaranelle McCollum Munsey, her father, Robert Wood Henninger and her adopted father, Otha Lee Munsey.
SERVICE: The visitation to celebrate Judy’s life with friends and family will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors.
The funeral service will be on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at the Englewood Baptist Church with Dr. Adam Dooley, Dr. Dub Oliver and Dr. Ben Mandrell officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery.
Pallbearers to serve are Mark Campbell, Steven Aldridge, Tommy Sadler, Ty Patrick, Jerry Don Culpepper, Tim Culpepper, Lamont Nelson and Robert Reynolds, Jr.
