Johnny L. Vance, a beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, at his home in Jackson, TN, surrounded by the warmth of his loving wife and children. Born on June 19, 1942, in Magnolia, KY, Johnny lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and a deep commitment to his family.
He has been a devoted member of Grace Bible Fellowship with his wife for several years.
For many years, Johnny was the proud owner and operator of Humboldt Radiator & Air Conditioning, where he applied his skills with a keen eye and a steady hand. He devoted himself to his craft and clung to the principles of honesty and service, earning respect in the local community. After a fulfilling career, he retired gracefully at the age of 63, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and hard work.
Outside of work, Johnny harbored a passion for fixing up old cars. This hobby was more than just a pastime; it was a reflection of his love for craftsmanship and the joy of creating something beautiful from the past. Each vehicle he restored became a testament to his meticulous attention to detail and his ability to breathe new life into forgotten treasures.
However, above all else, his proudest accomplishments were found within the bonds of his family. Johnny cherished the moments spent with his loved ones, from family gatherings to quiet evenings at home. His heart swelled with pride for his children, and he took immense joy in sharing his passion for cars and life lessons with them.
Left to cherish his memory is his dedicated wife, Janet Vance; adored children, John Vance (Amelie Collins), Dennis Charles Vance (Karen), and Wendy Lynn Hill (Buddy); and grandchildren, Carly Hill, Eva Vance, Thea Vance, and Charlie Vance. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Maybell Vance; and brother, Floyd Norman.
A funeral service to celebrate Johnny's life will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2025, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. The burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jackson Animal Care Center at https://www.jacksontn.gov/government/departments/animalservices/animal_care_center/donations/.
As we remember Johnny, we are reminded of a man who embraced life with open arms, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy will continue to shine through the stories, laughter, and love that he shared with his family. Though he may no longer walk among us, Johnny's spirit will forever be a guiding light in their lives.
