Joel Ray Martin

Joel Ray Martin, age 55, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away on July 7, 2026. He was born on September 24, 1970, in Jackson, where he spent his life surrounded by family, friends, and the things he loved most.

Joel lived life in his own way and was happiest enjoying the simple things. He loved spending time with his closest friends, Ken and Holly, sharing laughs, stories, and making memories together. He enjoyed relaxing with a good cigar, cheering on the Florida Gators, and never missed the chance to root for his favorite NASCAR driver, Jeff Gordon.

Joel also had a passion for collecting firearms and enjoyed spending time at the range. Among the greatest joys in his life were his faithful companions, his beloved dog, Wendell, and his loyal cat, Oscar. They brought him constant comfort, companionship, and unconditional love.

He is survived by his brother, Jeff Martin (Susan); his sister, Sheryl Martin; his uncle, Cory Dugan of Memphis, TN; his nieces and nephews, Haylee Davis, Ashley Martin, Sarah Martin, and Hayden Davis; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Molleigh Crumpton, Aiden Davis, and Luka Rodriguez.

Joel will be remembered for his independent spirit, his unmistakable personality, and the loyalty he showed to those he cared about. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on through the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the lives he touched.

In keeping with Joel's wishes, he will be cremated, and no formal funeral service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be announced and held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember him.
