Joe Vernon Casey Sr., age 80, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, surrounded by the warmth of his loving family. Born on August 4, 1945, in Memphis, Tennessee, Joe’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with social contributions and personal achievements that touched many hearts.
To know Joe was to love him. He was a dedicated father, adoring husband, caring brother, proud grandfather, beloved uncle, loyal friend, and inspiring mentor. A true BBQ master and chief roll maker, Joe took immense joy in cooking for the children in his church community, where his cheerful spirit and generosity were evident to all. His ability to connect with people knew no bounds; Joe never met a stranger and could easily talk anyone’s ear off.
Joe possessed a remarkable talent for building and fixing things, always ready to lend a hand or share his tools with those in need. His passion for helping others created a legacy of kindness that those who knew him will carry forward. He taught us the importance of giving of ourselves—our time, lend an ear, and be a good friend. The stories he shared, the guidance he offered, and the love he spread will forever remain etched in our memories.
Joe leaves behind a treasure trove of experiences and affection, but most importantly, he leaves behind his beloved wife, Linda Carol Burrow, whom he sweetly called “Shuugg,” along with his faithful companion, Bo. His memory will be cherished by his sons, Joe V. Casey Jr. of Prairie Grove, AR, and Terry Casey (Stacey) of Montpelier, VA, his brother John Casey of Corinth, MS, his sister Anita Smith (Brandt) of Memphis, TN, along with nine grandchildren; Bethany Davis (Ben), Jessica Stamper (Tyler), Zachary Casey (Kelsea), Sean Casey (Ashlann), Kelsey Hydrick (Stradford), Bryan Casey, Conner Casey, Ian Casey, Annelise; and eight great-grandchildren.
