Jim Bob Bowling

Funeral services for Jim Bob Bowling, 88, will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 21, 2013 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 prior to the service. Burial will take place in Pikeville, KY. Mr. Bowling died on Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. A native of Pike County, Kentucky, he was born on April 16, 1925, the son of the late Kenis and Dolly Francisco Bowling. He was married to Gladys J. Bowling who preceded him in death in 1980. He was an alumnus of Eastern Kentucky University and Morehead State University. He taught for thirty-nine years with the Kentucky Board of Education. After moving to Jackson he became an active member of Englewood Baptist Church. He is survived by his sons, Jimmy Bowling of Birmingham, AL and David Bowling and his wife Bobbie of Jackson, TN; a granddaughter, Brittney Bowling of Jackson, TN and a sister Louise Ratliff of Adamsville, TN.
