It is with great sadness that the family of Jerry RayHensleyannounce his passing on April 13, 2021. Jerry was born August 16,1946 in Hohenwald, TN, the son of G.A and Lola VaughnHensley. After earning a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Jerry worked for Ciba-Geigy (which later became Syngenta) in agricultural research. He retired from Syngenta as the Western Regional Research Manager. After retiring from Syngenta, he worked for a short time for AgraQuest in Davis, CA before moving back to Jackson, TN.Jerry was the U.S. Research Manager for Agriguard until he suffered a stroke in 2012.Unfortunately, he experienced long-term debilitating effects from his stroke. During his life, Jerry enjoyed many hobbies including photography, sailing, golfing and attending baseball games with friends and family.He was a loving husband and father who will be deeply missed. Jerry was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Scott of Nashville, TN.He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sue LeedsHensley; two sons, Jerry Ray, ll of Jackson, TN and Justin Aaron (Ami) of Mountain View, CA; four granddaughters and two grandsons, EmilyHensleyof Beach Bluff, TN, KassidyHensleyof Dyersburg, TN, KarsynHensleyof Jackson, TN, Maya Rajan and BodhiHensleyof Mountain View, CA; and two great grandchildren, JosslynHensleyand PaxtonHensleyof Beech Bluff, TN. SERVICES: A memorial service will be held Saturday May 15, 2021 at 11AM at Arrington Funeral Directors, 148W. University Parkway, Jackson, TN. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials in Jerrys honor be directed to Stanford University, Gift Processing, P.O. Box 20466, Stanford, CA 94309.
