Jerrell Glynn Houston, Jr.

Jerrell Glynn Houston, Jr. passed away on December 18, 2025, after courageously battling injuries sustained in a car accident. He spent his final days surrounded by love at a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born on June 24, 1964, in Memphis, TN to Jerrell and Jean Houston.

Jerrell's pride in his education was evident to all who knew him. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, he never missed a chance to cheer on the Vols, embracing every victory with exuberance. His passion for academics translated seamlessly into his professional life, where he excelled as a certified public accountant. After years of distinguished service in Atlanta, Georgia, he returned to Tennessee to be closer to his father and stepmother, Jerrell and Patricia.

Known to be always on the move, Jerrell found solace in the rhythmic strides and the wind against his face. He loved to run. It was during these moments that he felt most at peace, often reflecting on the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Melissa and Avery (Danielle); father, Jerrell Glynn Houston, Sr.; stepmother, Patricia Houston; grandson, Jesse; and one grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Jean Houston.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2025, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Mark Pendergrass officiating. The burial will follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.

As the sun sets on Jerrell's earthly chapter, we take a moment to honor his memory, with the same grace and dignity with which he lived his life. Jerrell Glynn Houston, Jr. will be profoundly missed, yet fondly remembered, by the countless lives he touched with his vibrant spirit and kind heart.
