Janis Diane McEarl age 60 of Jackson, TN, passed peacefully on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. She was surrounded by her husband, son, and family. She was born September 20, 1963, in Danville, Illinois to Dlorah R. Wilson and the late Stanley P. Wilson. Janis graduated from Dyer County High School in Newbern, Tennessee. Her career thereafter included supervisory positions at Double Day Books, Nike, and stay-at- home mom to her son. More recently, she worked for Dwight Hawks Law offices and worked there for over 10 years. She was a member of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church in Jackson. Janis loved her husband, son, and family deeply. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who changed her life. While battling her own health issues, she genuinely cared about the needs of those around her. Amid adversity, she showed gratitude and amazing fortitude. Janiss faith and testimony remained strong to the end. She believed that God had a purpose for all circumstances in her life, and she trusted in whatever He ordained. Janis is preceded in death by her father, Stanley P. Wilson; a twin brother and sister: and a great niece. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Lee McEarl of Jackson, TN; her son, Anthony Kirk of Jackson, TN; her mother, Dlorah Wilson of Elkton, KY; her brother Glenn Wilson(Kathy) of Elkton, KY; sisters, Kay Keefer(Jerry) of McDonough, Georgia and Karla Davis(Alan) of Irondale, Alabama; several nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces; and her African Jungle cat, Tarzan. Services: Visitation will be Wednesday, December 6, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee. Services will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Jonathan Baine officiating. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 7 at 11:00 a.m., at Pleasant Plains Baptist Church.
