Obituary

Laurie Jane Ragland Young, 69, of Jackson, TN died on Monday, November 26, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with The Reverend Bruce D. McMillan officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon prior to the service. Janie Young was born July 30, 1943 to parents Herman and Neva Ragland in Lynchburg, VA. She graduated high school from E.C. Glass in 1961 and attended Lynchburg College and Union University in Jackson, TN. She spent forty years in the banking profession. She is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, Freddy Young III, a son Freddy Young IV and his wife Shelia and a daughter, Laura Roshon and her husband Britt. Mrs. Young is also survived by a brother, Douglas Ragland and his wife Barbara of Lynchburg, VA. She leaves her grandchildren and great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Neva, and her father, Herman and her beloved Jacques. The family deeply appreciates the following healthcare providers; Forest Cove Nursing Home, Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Infusion Partners, The Jackson Clinic, Healthcare Pharmacy and Medical Center Home Health for their dedicated support and care. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that memorials be directed to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, The Jackson-Madison County Humane Society, 23 Quaker Oats Drive, Jackson, TN 38305 or to the charity of the donors choice.
