Obituary

James Anthony Sabella, Jr., born on February 20, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of the late James A. Sabella, Sr. and Rita S. Sabella, passed away on March 23, 2026, in Jackson, Tennessee, leaving behind a life marked by devotion, service, faith, and love for his family and community.

Jim lived a life defined by steady commitment and quiet strength. He was the beloved husband of Marsha Jenkins Sabella for sixty years, and their enduring marriage stood as a lasting example of loyalty, companionship, and shared devotion. Together, they built a family that included a daughter, Wendy Sabella Claude and her husband Chris Claude, Sr. and their children, Chris Claude, Jr. and his wife Catherine F. Claude and grandchildren Archie and Barrett Claude; son, Jim Sabella III and his wife Colleen F. Sabella and their children, Emily, Jaime and Tony Sabella. Their family was centered on faith, and the simple joys of being together through the many seasons of life.

Those who knew Jim understood that his greatest pride was found in the people he loved and in the relationships he nurtured with patience and care.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Jim served his country honorably from 1961 to 1964. Stationed in Stuttgart, Germany, he served as an E5 Specialist with the 66th Military Intelligence Group. His military service reflected the discipline, responsibility, and sense of duty that remained with him throughout his life. He carried the experience of his service with dignity and pride, and his years in the Army were a meaningful part of his story.

Following his military service, Jim built a respected career in sales and leadership. He retired as the Director of Sales for CECO Door in Milan, Tennessee, where he was known for his professionalism, work ethic, and ability to connect with others. In his career, he earned the respect of colleagues and associates through his knowledge, integrity, and dependable nature. He approached his work with the same sincerity and dedication that he brought to every part of his life.

Jim was a Christian and a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Jackson, Tennessee. His faith was an important part of who he was, and it guided the way he lived, loved, and served others. He found strength and comfort in his religious life and valued the fellowship and traditions of his church community. His faith was not simply a part of his identity, but a source of grace and purpose throughout his years.
