James Milton Love peacefully passed away on January 1, 2024, in Obion, Tennessee. Born on April 20, 1942, in Trenton, Tennessee, to the late James Milton and Dorothy Beckton Love. James led an extraordinary life filled with compassion, faith, and love.
Throughout his career, James served as a police officer and wholeheartedly dedicated himself to protecting and serving his community. His commitment to justice extended beyond law enforcement as he found solace in pastoral work. James ministered to congregations in various places including Trenton, Obion, and Milan. He was widely respected for his unwavering devotion to the spiritual well-being of others.
In addition to his professional endeavors, James made a lasting impact through a TV show he hosted called "Love for a Reason." Through this platform, he shared his messages of hope, faith, and love with a broad audience. James touched the lives of countless individuals through both his pastoral work and television presence.
James's legacy lives on through the memories and immense love he leaves behind. To those who had the pleasure of knowing him personally, they were fortunate enough to witness firsthand the remarkable qualities that defined him. Those who were closest to James will fondly remember him as a remarkable husband, father, and grandfather. His family meant everything to him and he cherished every moment spent with them. His dedication and unwavering support serve as a testament to his proudest accomplishments.
When not engaged in professional or familial duties, James found solace in pursuing his hobbies and interests. He enjoyed spending time reading his Bible, finding guidance and inspiration within its sacred pages. Fishing was another passion that brought him joy; it allowed him to reconnect with nature while contemplating life's mysteries. Additionally, he formed an inseparable bond with his loyal companion Huckleberry – an endearing canine friend whose company he adored.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Brenda McMinn Love; sons, Anthony Love and Jimmy Love; daughters, Tanya Gabel and Rebecca Love; grandchildren, Misty Tapia, Kristina Norton, Bethany Fuentes, and Chasity Solis; and great-grandchildren, Abimelek Tapia, Armondo Tapia, Mariah Fuentes, Chris Fuentes, Nolan Solis, Liliana Solis, and Bella Norton.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Vicki Love; and sisters, Frances Hardin, Patsy Cole, and Margaret Hays.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2023, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The burial will follow in Centerville Cemetery in Medina, TN. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at New Faith Worship Center in Obion, TN.
James Milton Love will forever be remembered as a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many. His unwavering faith, compassion for others, and dedication both in his profession and personal life have left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have known him. May his spirit find solace in eternal tranquility as his legacy continues to inspire generations to come.
