James "Jim" David Wade

July 4, 1949 — June 12, 2025

Jackson, TN

James "Jim" David Wade, a beloved figure whose warmth and generosity touched many lives, passed peacefully on June 12, 2025, in Jackson, Tennessee. Born on July 4, 1949, in Johnson City, TN, he embodied the spirit of independence and kindness that marked his life.

Jim's professional journey took him through the bustling aisles of warehouses, where he wore many hats as a dedicated warehouse worker. His roles as a forklift operator and supplies counter exemplified not only his work ethic but a commitment to ensuring others had what they needed to thrive. His colleagues appreciated his reliability and his ever-present smile, which felt like sunshine amidst the demands of daily labor.

Beyond his career, Jim was a man of profound compassion. He was known for his giving nature, frequently extending his hand to those in need through donations to cherished charities such as St. Jude's, Wounded Warriors, and Boys Town. His commitment to helping others was one of his most defining traits, earning him the respect and love of friends and family alike.

In his personal life, Jim was passionate about the simple joys that nature offered. An avid deer hunter with his best friend, Danny Leonard, and a fishing enthusiast, he cherished the tranquility that came with these pastimes, often drawing comfort from the great outdoors. He always had such an amazing sense of humor and at times was a jokester, bringing a smile and laughter to others. In quieter moments, he found joy in the sitcom "The Andy Griffith Show," often laughing along with the beloved characters who brought nostalgia and warmth to his heart.

However, it was in his role as a husband for 48 years, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather where Jim truly found his greatest pride. His family was his crowning achievement, and they were the center of his universe. He delighted in their laughter, treasured their achievements, and held each moment spent together as sacred.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jennifer Alexander (Ricky), Karla Greer (Stephen) and Lynn McQuesten; sister, Sheila Greene (Bobby); grandchildren, Wade Kemp (Jennifer) and Seth Coffman (Alina); and great-grandchildren, Aurora Coffman, Riley Coffman, and Madison Kemp. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Frances Wade; parents, David Dwayne Wade and Johnny Ruth Murchison Wade; brother, Johnny Wade; and granddaughter, Katie Lynn Gordon.

A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2025, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org/donate.
