James "Gary" Carver, age 80, passed away on January 9th at his home. Gary is survived by his wife Peggy. Gary had two children; James, Jr. "Jimmy" Carver (Ginger) and Sandi Arnold (Max, Sr.). Gary had 5 grandchildren; Max Arnold, Jr., Rebekah Arnold, Shelby Carver, Sydney Carver, and Tyler Carver. Gary was born on June 19, 1938 to Omie A. and Ottie Carver. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings; he has one surviving sister, Judy Egbert (Ken) in Pittsboro, IN. Gary graduated from North Side High School and was an enthusiastic supporter of their athletic programs. Gary served four years in the USMC and retired from JEA. Gary and his wife were members of West Jackson Baptist Church. His remains were cremated, and no formal memorial services are planned. Gary will be greatly missed, and his lasting legacy will be his love for all things "Jackson". The family has requested that memorial contributions be directed to North Side High School.
