Phil Childs, age 58, died on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at his residence. A native of Memphis, TN, Phil was born on December 2, 1957, the son of the late George Edgar and Helen Boyette Childs. He was employed with the University of Memphis at Lambuth. He was very much a family man enjoying being with his children and grandchildren. His hobbies included working on cars and motorcycles and woodworking as well as, traveling, scuba diving and going to the beach. He is survived by his wife, Donna Brister Childs of Jackson, TN; a son George Christopher "Chris" Childs and wife Katie and their children, Blaze and Charlie Childs of Ashland City, TN and a daughter, Mary Lauren Childs of Nashville, TN; two sisters, Judy Amble of Benbrook, TX and Linda Brock of Kentucky. SERVICES: A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, September 22, 2016 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Phil Clements.
