Edward C. McHughes, age 67, died peacefully on Friday, January 1, 2021.
Edward was born in Los Angeles, CA on May 16, 1953, the son of the late William B. and Mary Curry McHughes. He was retired from Gerdau Jackson, formerly known as Ameristeel. He was an avid NASCAR fan, who enjoyed cooking especially grilling along with many outdoor activities such as boating. He enjoyed spending time with his sons and their activities.
He is survived by his two sons, John McHughes and his wife Jessica of Murfreesboro, TN and Matt McHughes and his fiancée Victoria of Hermitage, TN; a half-brother, Richard H. Morgan of Memphis, TN and a grandchild, Emma Grace.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 7, 2021 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service.
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
