Dorothy Earline Whitworth (nee Grantham), aged 97, passed away on May 13, 2025, in Springfield, VA. Born on February 5, 1928, in Jackson, TN, Dorothy was cherished by family and friends.

She graduated from North Side High School (Jackson) in 1947. After attending business school in Jackson, Dorothy worked for the FBI in Washington, DC, during President Harry Truman's administration. She returned to Jackson and married Roy Whitworth in 1953.

A lifelong Baptist, Dorothy last attended Calvary Baptist Church near her home in north Jackson.

Dorothy was the beloved matriarch of a large family. She leaves behind her daughter Debra (Stan) Jones and son Robin (Tara) Whitworth. She was a proud grandmother to Josh Jones, Daniel Jones, Jenny Clemenson, Anna Simonson, Rikki Whitworth, and Emily Whitworth, and great-grandmother of ten.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dude and Alma Grantham; her sister, Gladys Grantham, her brother, Bud Grantham; and her husband Roy Whitworth.

A graveside service honoring Dorothy's life will be held at Rocky Springs Cemetery in Jackson on May 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

Her legacy of kindness and devotion will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
