Dorothy English Haynes

Dorothy English Haynes, age 93, of Jackson, TN, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Alamo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Adamsville, TN, Dorothy was born on April 28, 1929, to the late William Edward English and Clatia Varnell English. She was married to P. J. Haynes who preceded her in death in 2010. Dorothy was a homemaker and a farmer's wife.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and singing in the church choir at Ararat Baptist Church in the Huntersville community.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Doris Lawrence, and Ruth Ann Morrison, both of Jackson, TN; her sister, Edith Tucker of Athens, GA; her brother, Jamie English and wife Ann English of Hohenwald, TN; and sister-in-law, Kathy English of Corinth, MS. Also, "Dot Dot" will be greatly missed by her five granddaughters, Elyzabeth Pflasterer (Ryan), Anna Wilson (Taylor), Margaret Maddux (Tim), Meredith Walker (Taylor), Melissa Hayes (Brad), and her 14 great-grandchildren. Other than her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Arnold, Arias, and Neil English, and her two sons-in-law, Charles Lawrence, and George Morrison.
The family would like to thank caregivers Rose McLemore and Genliva Hospice staff for their compassion, kindness, and work dedication shown to Dorothy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Ararat Baptist Church (Music Department}, 3608 Brownsville Highway, Jackson, TN 38301.
A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 3:00 P.M.
