Donald Lee
Hollin
July 24, 1945 – April 10, 2026
Donald "Don" Lee Hollin, age 80, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away on April 10, 2026, at his residence surrounded by the love of his family and the quiet peace of a life well lived.
Born on July 24, 1945, in Milledgeville, Tennessee, the son of the late Rev. Barnie L and Thelma Harwell Hollin, he lived a life marked by faith, devotion to family, professional accomplishment, and a steady kindness that touched many along the way.
He was the beloved husband of Lucy Womack Hollin for fifty-five years, and their marriage was a lasting example of loyalty, partnership, and enduring love. Together, they built a family that was central to his heart. He was a proud father to his son, Shane Hollin, and his daughter, Allison Tubbs, and he found great joy in being grandfather to London and Liam Tubbs. He is also survived by his brother Charles Hollin and his wife Sue. His family was the center of his world, and he treasured every opportunity to share time, encouragement, and love with them.
Don was a man of strong character and lifelong dedication to learning. He graduated from Union City High School and went on to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin, where he earned a degree in business. He later received a master's degree in business from Murray State University and held his CPA certification. His education reflected the discipline and determination that guided him throughout his life, and he carried that same commitment into every role he accepted.
His professional life was marked by service, responsibility, and versatility. He held positions with Jackson State Community College, Mississippi County Community College, and Union University, where he contributed with integrity and a thoughtful approach to his work. He also held licenses in insurance and investment planning, demonstrating both his broad knowledge and his willingness to help others with practical guidance. Though he was accomplished in many areas, he often said that his best job was selling cars, a comment that reflected both his appreciation for people and his enjoyment of the work itself. Don's cherished hobbies were fishing, fishing, and fishing and when he wasn't fishing he enjoyed traveling with his family and watching his grandchildren perform.
Don was a Christian whose faith remained an important part of his life. He was a member of Fellowship Bible Church and valued the fellowship, prayer, and encouragement he received there. He would have wanted to extend special appreciation to the members of his home group, whose faithful prayers, visits, and gifts of food and love supported him with kindness and devotion. Their care was a meaningful reflection of the Christian community he held dear.
