Obituary

Don A. Coleman, age 85, died peacefully at his residence on November 26, 2020 surrounded by his loving family under the care of Avalon Hospice of Jackson. He was born in Warrensburg, MO on April 9, 1935, the son of the late E. H. and Jessie Winfrey Coleman. As a minister of music, Don had the honor of serving several churches during his career. He served Longmont and Greeley CO, First Baptist Church, Warrensburg, MO, Northeast Baptist Church, Clinton, MO, First Baptist Church in Windsor, MO, Clinton, MO and Poplar Bluff, MO, Second Baptist Church, Poplar Bluff, MO, Graves Memorial, North Little Rock, AR, Boulevard Baptist Church, Southaven, MS, Union Valley Baptist Church, Union Valley, AR, Fairfield Bay Baptist Church, Fairfield Bay, AR, Fairfield Bay United Methodist Church, Fairfield Bay, AR. Don was also a vocal music teacher for the Clinton High School in Clinton, MO from 1967 until 1975 and was employed with the Brown Shoe Fit Company from 1951 until 1961. He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Coleman; children, Don Coleman (Sherry), Beth Coleman Worley (Glenn), Stephanie Coleman Allee (Jeff), Phillip Coleman (Patti), Jennifer Coleman Priest (Chuck) and Nathan Coleman (Julie); twenty-two grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Don was preceded in death by a grandchild and two great grandchildren. SERVICES: A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on December 14, 2020 at the Fairfield Bay Baptist Church in Fairfield Bay, AR. A private interment will take place in the Fayette City Cemetery in Fayette, MO. The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention.
