Allen Anthony, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, in Jackson, Tennessee, at the age of 90.

Born on Christmas day, 1935 in Memphis, Tennessee, to Deward and Lizzie Anthony, Allen lived a life defined by faith, family, and faithful service. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ruth Bailey

Allen went to Cordova Elementary School and Germantown High School, then graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He was a member of Chi Epsilon, a society that recognizes students who have demonstrated excellence in academic and professional pursuits. He proudly played his trumpet in the university's marching band during his time there. He later earned his MBA from the University of Chicago. He began his career with Bethlehem Steel and went on to serve with the Bureau of Engraving and Printing until his retirement in 2005. He was a licensed professional engineer and a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers.

Beyond his professional life, Allen's heart was always with his beloved wife, Barbara Anthony, and their family. Their union was blessed with two sons, David Anthony of Newport News, Virginia, Phillip Anthony and his wife Cathy of Mt Juliet, Tennessee. Allen took immense joy in his role as a patriarch, and his legacy continues through his grandchildren, Emily, and her husband C.J., Erin, Rebekah and her husband Garret, Victoria, Allen, and Rachel and her husband Rob. The light of his life shone even brighter with the arrival of his great-grandchildren, Asher, Leo, Lucy, Callum, Tallin, Kaden, Anthony, and Henry, who will carry forward his memory and the lessons he imparted. He also shared a close bond with his brothers-in-law, Carl Dunn, George Dunn, and Jerry Dunn.

He spent many hours enjoying his hobbies of gardening and golfing and running.

He enjoyed serving the Lord through music, he faithfully sang in the choir or played his trumpet in the church orchestra in all of the churches where he was member. He was ordained as a Deacon in 1984. Allen enjoyed spending time with his family and laughing with those around him. Above all, Allen loved his Lord and his family.
