David Earl Davis, of Friendship, TN passed from this life peacefully, surrounded by family, on April 1, 2025, at his residence. David was born in Friendship, TN on July 24, 1936, the eldest child of the late JW and Pauline East Davis. He was a brother to Ann Taylor, Sherry Wright, and Jerry Davis, who proceeded him in death. David was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, devoted husband, and loving father. He spent his life working in manufacturing, retiring at age 72 from the Marvin Windows Corporation. He enjoyed serving his church, faithfully leading as an elder for more than forty years. In the summer of 1954, David met Annette Naylor of Lauderdale County, and they married on May 29, 1955. The newlyweds settled in Chicago, IL, then returned home to Tennessee to live in Friendship in 1969. Together they built a loving family that survives him; his wife of seventy years, Annette Naylor Davis of Humboldt, TN; a son, Shawnye Davis, of Frog Jump, TN; and daughters, Anita Burns (George) of Munford, TN, Karen Larsen (Jon) of Three Way, TN, and Nicky Davis of Munford, TN He also leaves his beloved grandchildren, Leana Greene, John David Whitener, Rhece Davis, Cassidy Wright, Gage Darnall, Baylee Darnall, and Alayna Darnall, and great-grandson, Milo Thomas. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy Climer of Crockett Mills, TN. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his eldest son, David Allen Davis. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Davids life with a visitation on Monday, April 7, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until 12:00 p.m. with the service to follow at Northbrook Church, 421 Highway 45 West, Humboldt, TN 38343, with Rev. Chuck Maxwell officiating. The family will have a private graveside committal.
