Dana Edward Meeson

Dana E. Meeson, 59 passed on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He was born in Stillwater, Minnesota on February 20, 1954, the son of the late Philip Edward and Nona Peterson Meeson. He spent much of his younger years growing up in Florida and was a fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He owned and operated D & L Distributors, a wholesale distributor of Hunt Brothers Pizza Company, in Jackson. He was a communicant of St. Marys Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and started the middle school football program in 2007 and still continues today. His passions for helping children and for sports are what encouraged his coaching both football and baseball for over twenty-five years with the Madison County Youth Leagues. He loved all types of music and was an avid Fleetwood Mac fan for many years. He loved his family and took great pride in his daughters and their many accomplishments. Dana is survived by his wife Lisa Thompson Meeson of Humboldt, TN; two daughters, Melinda Kaye Meeson of Jackson, MS and Allison Mae Meeson of Humboldt, TN; his mother-in-law, Barbara Thompson of Jackson, TN; brothers-in-law, Mike Thompson and Randy Thompson both of Jackson, TN and Brandon Thompson (Stephanie) of Ft. Bragg, NC; nieces and nephews, Amanda Thompson Brooks (Casey), Hunter Thompson, Hannah Thompson, Haley Thompson and Amber Thompson and three loving canine companions, Max, Duke and Rowan. Services: A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 Friday, September 6, 2013 at St. Marys Catholic Church with Monsignor Thomas Kirk officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at St. Marys Catholic Church.
