Chloe Elaine Otis, the beloved daughter of Jason and Shayna Hague Otis, was born into the arms of Jesus early Wednesday morning, August 28, 2024, at 4:58 a.m. Born at 37 weeks and 3 days, she weighed 4 lbs. and 7 oz. and was 17 inches long.
Chloe’s middle name was chosen after her paternal grandmother, Paula Elaine Otis, and means, “shining light.” Chloe was prayed for, and so very much wanted here on earth, but God had other plans. Chloe’s family takes comfort in knowing she is now resting safely in the arms of Jesus, and that one day they will spend eternity with her in Heaven. Every day without her is also a day closer to her.
Her father is a school resource officer with the Jackson-Madison County Schools, and her mother is a hospitalist physician at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Chloe will be celebrated and remembered by her parents, Jason and Shayna Otis, of Jackson, Tennessee; maternal grandmother Mary and her husband Jack Robinson, of Perrysburg, Ohio; and maternal grandfather Vernon and his wife L’Tanya Hague, of Toledo, Ohio; paternal grandparents, John and Paula Otis, of Southbury, Connecticut; uncles Tyler and aunt Angelina Otis, John Ragland, Vernon and aunt Stacee Hague, and Evan Hague; aunts Amanda Olney, Holly and uncle Scott Thompson; as well as many other dear family and close friends who hold Chloe in their hearts.
Family members meeting Chloe in Heaven are her maternal great-grandparents Herbert and Betty Lou Logan and George and Eleanor Hague, and paternal great-grandparents Eugene and Antoinette Otis and Adolf and Adeline Woitke.
Jason and Shayna would like to express their appreciation to their family and friends for the immense support they have received during this difficult time. They would also like to thank The Butterfly’s Embrace Bereavement team and their medical teams at Jackson-Madison County Hospital for providing more loving care than they could have ever imagined. In the words of Shayna, “We are right where we are supposed to be.”
SERVICE: Chloe’s Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Love and Truth Church with Pastor Chris Smith officiating. There will be no visitation.
Jason and Shayna ask that in lieu of flowers, any memorial donations be directed to Heaven’s Cradle, a fund of the Community Foundation of West Tennessee, 74 Directors Row, Jackson, TN 38305 or online at www.heavenscradle.org.
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 NLT
“A life need not be long to be meaningful.” Unknown
