Obituary

Charles H. "Charlie" Williams Jr, a man of courage, passion, and adventure, completed his final journey on December 15, 2025, in Jackson, Tennessee. Born on the last day of 1946 in Humboldt, Tennessee, Charlie's life was a tapestry of dedication, love, and service.

Charlie's early years were spent in the Oakfield Community, where he embraced the simple pleasures of hunting, fishing, love for history and forming lifelong friendships. He was a proud graduate of Northside High School and furthered his education at Union University, where he earned a bachelor's degree that would serve as the foundation for his future endeavors.

A patriot at heart, Charlie honored his country by serving in the United States Marine Corps. He achieved the rank of Lance Corporal and displayed unwavering bravery during his two tours of duty in Vietnam. His military service would remain one of his proudest accomplishments, and it instilled in him a sense of discipline and commitment that he carried throughout his life.

He met and married the love of his life, Mitzi D. Williams. Their union was one of mutual respect, deep affection, and shared adventures. Together, they explored the world and took great joy in being active members of the local Filipino-American community, embracing its rich culture and warm camaraderie. Charlie Williams is also an active member of Captain Jack Holland Detachment 735, Marine Corps League, participating in annual drive for Toys for Tots and supporting its mission.

Charlie's legacy is carried on by his devoted wife, Mitzi , his furbaby , Uzi who has been his emotional support for 11 years, his son, Charles H. "Chad" Williams III (Angel); his daughter, Ashley Keel (Brooks); and his cherished grandchildren, Grace Buchanan (Patrick), Margaret Keel, Mary Keel, and Sarah Keel and his beloved family in the Philippines : Wendell & Fatima (Uzziel, Izah and Ez) , Louie & Ammie, Janriel and Husea (Ellise and Shay) .Each of them reflects a different facet of Charlie's character, from his tenacity to his generous spirit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. Williams, Sr and Virginia Longmire Williams and his brother Gilford Williams.

Throughout his life, Charlie was a man of faith, steadfast in his Christian beliefs. His faith guided him in times of trial and tribulation, and it was the cornerstone of his character. He lived by the principles of kindness, charity, and love for his neighbor, leaving an indelible mark on his community and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a member of the Church at Sugar Creek in Humboldt, TN

In his leisure, Charlie could often be found on the golf course, where he combined his love for the sport with the beauty of nature or cycling and hiking with his wife. His competitive spirit and good-natured banter were as much a part of the game as the clubs he swung. Those who played alongside him will fondly remember the laughter and joy that followed in his wake.

SERVICES: A time with family and friends to honor Charlie's life will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, in the Chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Greg McFadden officiating. As we bid farewell to Charlie, we celebrate a life that was filled with purpose, joy, and an abundance of love.
