Charles A. Pilkenton, age 71, died on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Charles was born in Ridgely, TN on June 27, 1944, the son of the late Stoney and Rosie Buchanan Pilkenton. He was a retired transportation specialist with over thirty years. He was married to Syble Pilkenton who preceded him in January 2001. He is survived by his fianc Mary Ellen Permenter of Newbern, TN; sons, Donald Hardin and wife Melissa of Medina, TN and Stevie Hardin and wife Christine of Jackson, TN; daughter, Misty Shoulders and husband William of Dyersburg, TN; a sister Peggy Hardin of Dyersburg and ten grandchildren. He was preceded by brothers, Calvin Pilkenton and Buford Pilkenton and sisters, Lucille Lythe and Ernistine Jones. SERVICES: A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service.
