Cecil Robinson

May 18, 1937 — December 12, 2023

Rev. Cecil Robinson entered his heavenly home on December 12, 2023, in Shelbyville, TN surrounded by his loving family.

Rev. Cecil Robinson was born May 18, 1937, in Hardy, Arkansas, to Herbert Robinson and Rhoda Martin Robinson.  He was united in marriage to Joy Whipple Robinson, on June 11, 1959. They celebrated 63 years of marriage.  Rev. Robinson loved God and faithfully served in ministry until his retirement in 2008.  He was a much sought after evangelist, preaching around the southeast and in Canada. He also served, as pastor, to congregations in Ripley, MS, Thayer, MO, Booneville, MS, Savannah, TN, and Middleton, TN. After retirement from full time ministry, He served as interim pastor in Blue Goose, TN.

He was well known for his enthusiastic and anointed singing and preaching that brought audiences to their feet in praise and to their knees at the altar. Countless souls have been affected for eternity because of his ministry.

As a young man, Rev. Robinson worked cutting crossties, and on a pipeline. He later learned the upholstery trade, working with his brother, Bartis, in Bay, AR. He continued to operate Upholstery Shops, in his various locations, until retirement.

He was particularly proud of the houses that he renovated and built, in AR and TN, with the help of his sons-in-law, his brother-in-law, Fletcher Curtis, his son, and other friends.

Reverend Robinson is survived by one sister, Geraldine Jarrell, of Ashland, KY, 3 children, Rhonda Nerren and husband, Rev. Bryan Nerren, of Shelbyville, TN, Sharon Walker and husband, Rev. Robinson was preceded in death by his beloved wife, of 63 years, Joy Whipple Robinson. his parents, Herbert and Rhoda Robinson, sisters, Effie Pearl Adams, Zella Collins, Hazel Collins, Dosha Curtis, Trecia Pendarvis, and Lota Holbrook.  Brothers, Arden, Graydon, Denver, Bartis and Dale Robinson.
