Carl Ronald Bain, a devoted family man and respected public servant, passed away peacefully in his home on June 4, 2026. He was born on August 18, 1939, in Jackson, Tennessee. Ronald lived a life marked by dedication to God, family, community and country.
Ronald proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard. Following his military service, he embarked on a distinguished career with the City of Jackson Fire Department, ultimately rising to the position of District Chief. His leadership and unwavering dedication earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and residents alike. He was honored to be the first recipient of the "Fireman of the Year " awarded in the City of Jackson. Beyond his professional achievements, Ronald's deepest joy was found in spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly. He was a man of strong faith and was an active member of Englewood Baptist Church, where he found fellowship and spiritual nourishment.
Left to cherish his memory is his childhood sweetheart and loving wife, Helen Grissom Bain; their children, Roanld Keith Bain and Carla Bain Patey both of Jackson; grandchildren Madison Claire Bryant (Austin) and Hayden Tyler Patey of Nashville, TN, Zachary Barrett Bain and Anna Katherine Bain of Franklin, TN; great-granddaughter Rosemary Claire Bryant; surviving siblings, William Bain and Patricia Bain Kilzer Hodges.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Magellan and Ester Delena Sells Bain; siblings, Larry Bain, Syble Bain Holder, Shirley Bain Alexander Brien, Jerry Bain, and Joyce Bain Hart.
A funeral to honor Ronald's life will be held 12:30 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2026, in the Chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Rev. John McCarley and Rev. Bob Layman officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A private entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
