Brenda Eldridge Whalley

July 20, 1946 — June 10, 2025

Jackson, TN

Brenda Eldridge Whalley, affectionately known as “Bebe,” passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on July 20, 1946, in Jackson, Tennessee, Brenda was a lifelong resident and a beloved member of her community.

She graduated from Lambuth College in 1968 with a degree in business—a proud accomplishment that reflected her sharp mind and strong work ethic. It was at Lambuth where she met the love of her life, Albert Edward “Big Ed” Whalley III. They were married on Valentine’s Day, 1969, and together built a life rooted in love, laughter, and dedication to family.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Brenda’s presence touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Brenda was deeply committed to her community in Jackson. Whether volunteering, attending and planning community events, or lending a helping hand, she embodied generosity and grace. Her warmth, elegance, and unwavering love for others left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Colonel William Winford Eldridge and Ella Frances Eldridge, and her brother Ronald Gregory Eldridge.

She is survived by her loving husband, Albert Edward “Big Ed” Whalley III; her daughter Laura Whalley Easter (Josh) and her son Albert Edward Whalley IV (Stacey); her cherished grandchildren Alexandria Whalley Hardy (Phillip), Frannie Easter Hogan (Matt), Jack Easter, Braden Mott (Emma), Bryce Mott, and Joshua Todd; her brothers Jimmy Arendall Eldridge (Carolyn) and Billie Wayne Eldridge (Jeanette); and many beloved nieces and nephews who brought her great joy.

Brenda found joy in the simple pleasures—spending time with her family at the river, being involved in her community, and the constant companionship of her beloved Bo. Her humor, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

A public celebration of Brenda’s life will be held at Jackson Country Club on June 24, 2025, at 5 p.m. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and honor the memory of a remarkable woman whose legacy of love and service will not be forgotten.
