Brenda Gail James passed away on October 15, 2026, in Jackson, Tennessee. She was born on March 12, 1945, and will be remembered with love for the simple joys she treasured, the faith that guided her life, and the warmth she shared with those around her.

Brenda was the owner of the Dairy Queen in McEwen, Tennessee, a role that reflected her hardworking spirit and her connection to her community. She was Baptist in faith, and that faith remained an important part of her life.

She found happiness in everyday pleasures and familiar routines. Brenda loved yard sales and enjoyed the excitement of finding something special. Quilting and working puzzles were among the pastimes she enjoyed, and Friday night dinner and a movie with her next-door neighbor was a cherished tradition that brought comfort and companionship.

Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie James; by her parents, Dorsey Tyler and Annie Tyler; by her brothers, Bobby Tyler, Cecil Tyler, Wayne Tyler, and Wille Tyler; and by her sisters, Shirley Murchison and Peggy Estes.

She is survived by her brother, Johnny Tyler of Medon, Tennessee. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews, who will carry her memory forward with affection.

No services are planned at this time. A private family burial will take place at a later date.

Brenda will be remembered for the life she lived with quiet devotion, for the interests that brought her joy, and for the love of family that remains her lasting legacy.
