Billy June Pennington, 83 died on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at his Jackson, TN residence.
A native of Amory, MS, Billy was born on April 10, 1930, the son of the late J.C. and Minnie Fuqua Pennington. He was retired as an Engineer with the Illinois Central Railroad. He was married to Helen E. Pennington who preceded him in April 2000. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the United Transportation Union and West Jackson Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports and gardening, as well as spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Bill Pennington and wife Betty of Jackson, TN; a brother, L.D. Pennington and wife Christine of Dyersburg, TN and two grandchildren, Becky and Brian Pennington. He was preceded in death by seven siblings.
SERVICES: A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM today at Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at Arrington Funeral Directors prior to the service.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers are requested to be directed to West Jackson Baptist Church, 580 Oil Well Road, Jackson, TN 38305.
