Billy Wayne Brasfield

May 11, 1939 — October 17, 2025

Jackson, TN

Billy Wayne Brasfield, a beloved figure and cherished family man, was born on May 11, 1939, in Gadsden, Tennessee. His journey through life came to a close on October 17, 2025, in Jackson, Tennessee.

Billy dedicated 28 years of his professional life as a machinist at Eastman Kodak, where he was not only recognized for his skilled craftsmanship but also for his enthusiasm for teamwork and camaraderie. His good-natured spirit shone brightly as he participated in the company’s baseball team, relishing the joy of the game and the connections forged on the field.

Billy had a remarkable passion for life, filling his leisure time with activities that brought him joy and allowed him to connect with his loved ones. He adored camping trips with his brothers in their RV, where laughter and shared memories would abound under the stars. A talented tinkerer, he was affectionately known as "Mr. Fix It" among family and friends; there seemed to be nothing he couldn't mend or improve upon.

In addition to his love for the outdoors and mechanics, Billy was an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoyed playing baseball, showed great prowess as a bowler—competing in leagues—and could often be found practicing his swing on the golf course. His passions for sports were accompanied by an unwavering commitment to his family, of which he was immensely proud. His love and devotion to them was, without a doubt, his proudest accomplishment.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Randall Brasfield, Terri Mosher (Fran), Vicki Myers, and Cindy Fredericks (Thomas); sister, Betty Caroline Johnson; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and ex-wife, Barbara Klutts.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Vicey Brasfield.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2025, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Deacon Dale Brown to officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

Billy Wayne Brasfield leaves behind a legacy filled with fond memories, laughter, and love, cherished by all who had the privilege to know him. His spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those who remember his warmth, ingenuity, and unwavering love for his family.
