Joan Rogers, age 93, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.
She was born in Lindsay, California, the daughter of the late James Eldon and Opal Stewart Rogers. Joan lived a life filled with compassion, joy, and unwavering dedication—not only to her family by blood but to the family she chose along the way.
Joan enjoyed a fulfilling career as a bookkeeper, retiring from Pioneer Electric with a reputation for precision, loyalty, and dedication. Yet it was her heart for others that defined her life. Known lovingly by many as “Auntie Jo,” she was a constant source of love and light to her extended circle of friends, who became like family to her. Her home was a sanctuary, her friendship a gift, and her love unconditional.
A woman of many passions, Joan loved reading—especially novels by Danielle Steele—and listening to timeless classics on her treasured record player. She embraced life fully, from the glamorous days she spent in Hollywood to quiet evenings cheering for her favorite California football teams. Her enthusiasm, warmth, and sense of humor made every gathering brighter.
She is survived by her great-niece, Jill Butler (Daniel), and their children, Wesley and William. Great-Nephew Derek Cole, Great-Niece Darla Streeter (Danny), and their children Dillon and Denae. Joan also leaves behind a devoted family of friends who will forever hold “Auntie Jo” in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her sister, Georgia, her nephew Russell, niece Leslie, niece Julie and great-niece Stephanie.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors.
We celebrate Joan’s life and the love, laughter, and lasting impact she brought to all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and joyful friendship lives on in every heart she touched.
