Bettye Anderson, 79, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at West Tennessee State Veterans Home. She was born October 10, 1934 in Pinson, TN the daughter of the late Jesse and Exie Murdaugh. Bettye was a star basketball player for Pinson High School class of 1952. She was a long time reporter for the Jackson Sun and Editor of the Jackson Journal. She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Blackwell (Ben) of Humboldt, TN; two sons, Steven Whitehead of Beech Bluff, TN and John Anderson; a brother Ralph Murdaugh (Jean) of Jackson, TN; grandchildren, Ben Blackwell, Joseph Autry, Tim McManis and Catie Estes; seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. SERVICES: Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson will held 10:00 AM Friday June 27, 2014 at Arrington Funeral Directors with burial to follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
