Betty J’nelle Agee Nix

Betty J’nelle Agee Nix, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, peacefully entered her eternal home on July 29, 2026 at the age of 80.

Betty was preceded in death by her loving parents Leroy and Katie Stewart Agee, her daughter, Pamela Christine Burford, grandson Jonathan Nix, and her sister-in-law and dear friend, Nelle Hulme Agee.

She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey “Dale” Nix of Humboldt and David Edwin “Eddie” Nix of Memphis, Tennessee; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brother, Dr. Bob R. Agee of Jackson, Tennessee as well as her nieces, great nieces and their families.

Betty’s desire to nurture and care for people led her to pursue a nursing degree during her adult years, and she served others with compassion through her profession. That same devotion shaped her family life. In her later years, Betty faithfully cared for her son Dale following his accident, offering the steady love, patience, and tenderness that reflected who she was.

Arrangements have been made through Arrington Funeral Home in Jackson, Tennessee. A family service will be held on Friday, August 21 at 11:00 am at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Brownsville, Tennessee.
