Beth Baker

January 20, 1976 — August 13, 2025

Beth Baker, a vibrant soul whose laughter echoed through the lives of many, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Regional One, in Memphis, TN. Born on Tuesday, January 20, 1976, in Chattanooga, TN, Beth's journey was rich in service, nurturing, and an unwavering passion for both her family and profession.

In a career that spanned diverse fields, Beth spent a year abroad in Scotland and England as an au pair, nurturing young hearts with the same devotion she would later show in her nursing career. For eight years, she dedicated herself as an Assistant Unit Operator at Watts Bar Nuclear Power Plant with TVA, embodying a relentless commitment to her work. But perhaps her most profound impact was felt during her 14 years as a nurse educator in cardiac rehabilitation for West Tennessee Healthcare, where she touched thousands of lives with her warmth and knowledge, offering comfort and care to those in need.

A proud graduate of the University of Georgia, Beth also held an associate’s degree in nursing from Chattanooga State. Her education grounded her not only in expertise, but in the belief that knowledge is most potent when shared, a value she instilled in those around her. Beyond her professional accolades, her spirited enthusiasm for life was exemplified by her cherished love for the Georgia Bulldogs, a team she supported with unwavering fidelity.

Beth's tender heart extended to her family—the richness of her relationships is evident in the fierce love she bestowed upon them. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Dr. John Baker, and their six children, Bailey Whitworth, Cooper Whitworth, Evan Baker, Olivia Baker, Harrison Baker, and Sophia Baker, her father, Jack Tucker, and brother, Chris Tucker. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jean Cooper Tucker.

Beth was not just a skilled professional; she embodied a joyful, positive spirit that illuminated the lives of all she encountered. Music filled her days. She was also passionate about health and fitness. In 2009, she competed in the 2009 Battle of the River in Chattanooga fitness competition and progressed to the state finals.
